Fumbbl Cup 2008 Round 1
I won my Round 1 game in the Fummbl Cup!

Well, this was a challenging match, first of all, we suffered many problems and reloads (9 or 10 in all) due to contunued server difficutlies. That problem combined with a few game bugs, but in the end, a little luck didn't hurt Steel Thunder II either.

Kudos to coach benninstein for playing a very tough game. The Dwarfs of Steel Thunder II rumbled in to score on turn 4 due to continued failed dodges by the Undead team. Count Luther Von Drakenborg was not much of a huge factor in this fight, but Zara the Slayer racked up 3 impressive casualties, including the death of a skilled ghoul, Very Hasty Nature. She was well worth her price tag and performed well, even having been knocked out on a gang-raping foul by Piffle.

Prior to his demise, Very Hasty Nature managed to score a TD, though he was blitzed sucessfully by Faern Rockfist, who's strip ball ability should have worked, but the game had a bug in it and the ball actually dissapeared for a few moments.

Later the ball would appear in Very Hasty Nature's hands, and after multiple reloads due to connection problems, Hasty scored.

The Dwarves rumbled downfield and were unable to score in the remianing time left in regulation game play and the Undead Defense was spetacular. This sent the game into overtime.

SteelThunder II again won the coin toss and battled their way past the Undead defense. The battle raged on for the entire period. The ball kept bouncing around, and though dwarfs tried their best to hold onto it, there was always another defender to knock them down.

In the end, Toldor Rockhammer, a dwarf longbeard managed to clear the ball on a 1-die blitz and this cleard the path for Faern Rockfist to dodge away, pick up the ball and pass the ball to a wide open Keldorn Narlagh. The beefy STR 5 runner was able to elude tacklers who fell trying to catch him and he rumbled in for the winning score at the end of OT.

A great game, shame about the continuous connection problems, but benninstein was still a good sport through it all. I look forward to a rematch sometime when the Fummbl Cup is done.
