Secret League Americas - Season 4 - Builder Division - The Disapperators Week 2
can't really go into character with this one since Wini was BH in turn 5 and didn't watch the rest of the match (blodging didn't help her at all, first block on her was successful and injured her). the first half was a back and forth affair, but key turnovers really swung the match for Down Lumber. the failed leap blitz in turn 2 set up the Disapperators to get bashed, with a foul and block KOing the wraith that failed the leap and a spirit host. there was little that happened the next couple turns, rookie banshee stunned herself on a double skull block, after which a failed block in turn 5 appeared to give the Wraiths an opening. Down Lumber had a chop block card and played it to stun the wraith in base to base with the ball carrier, and a second action failed gfi set the ghosts up to be pummeled again, and Wini got hurt (her hypnotic gaze would have been devastating if the rest of the team could have done anything). desperation set in at this point, and a crazy dodging though multiple tackle zones blitz was able to pop the ball free from Down Lumber, and the half ended scoreless.

The second half is where excrement collided with the rotary oscillator. here are the turnovers: 2+ pickup, 3+ pickup, no TO, 3+ leap, 2+ dodge, Down Lumber scores, 2+ pickup, 2+ dodge, 3+ leap. the first failed pickup allowed DL to get 2 tackle zones on the ball, and down numbers it looked grim. Matilda was able to pick up the ball at the start of turn 3, and the ghosts moved up to the top of the pitch to provide a limited screen, but DL was able to get into base contact and cut off the path to the end zone. was able to blitz the ballcarrier free, but the leap to secure the back of the screen failed, and in the next turn the ballcarrier is knocked down, ball flies out of bounds and is thrown back in right next to DL's AG 4 kangor, who picks it up and is able to separate from everyone. one ghost gets into base contact, but dodge away and score is 0-1. 3 turns left and rookie banshee fails the pickup again, and the cycle repeats. had a chance at a miracle pass in the last turn, but the leap away failed before i even got to collecting the ball.

in all, this game was a gut punch from nuffle, and after feeling fairly confident coming into this we're now looking at a long slog climbing back into something resembling a competitive team.

I wont deny the bad luck, but I happened to take a deep look at the dice stats & our luck was about as close dead even as I've seen. If there's one thing that won the game it was the lucky crowd throw in & thats where I'll admit I had the .01% better luck! Anyways, it was just as frustrating a game for me as you. Till next time

Great write up, Tzalaran - I love these blogs and the fluff that you're putting in to your team. I hope you're enjoying Secret League Americas so far and that your team bounces back quick! :)

Thanks! this type of writing comes easy to me, and it is somewhat cathartic. plus, going back over the games really points out errors you made when you know the result. i hope to not make the same mistake twice...

love the league, but its been a rough start...
