The Terrible Terrapins Squander a Dominating Performance on the Final Play
In a game that was not nearly as close as the final score indicated, the Mary's Land Terrible Terrapins were able to secure their first win over the JJC River Rats in a game that demonstrated the ability of the Terrapins ability to dominate a contest. While this game was not without its flaws, coach Lancelott will certainly look to build upon the success of this game and use it as motivation for the future as the terrapins move in to the heart of their season.

The game started fast with the JJC River rats receiving the ball and scoring quickly despite the efforts of The Terrapins to stop them. The ensuing drive however saw the Terrapins move on the offensive with a short kick bouncing into the opposing team's half and allowing the terrapins to flip the field. After that it was a game of attrition as the Terrapins systematically removed players from the opposing team.

"It was really great to see all of our other skink players step up," said David Damascus after the game. "We are certainly going to need more of that production in games to come." David himself finished with a touchdown as well as another well deserved MVP as he once again directed the terrapins offense. Both Bentley Trappe and Jackson airy scored their first touchdowns this contest to give the terrapins a commanding 3-1 lead.

David Damascus gleefully dodges through the inept tackling rats to score a touchdown

Well the JJC river rats generally had challenges getting anything going, finding it hard to simply pick up and had off the ball, they benefited at the end of the second half by a miscommunication by the coach towing Jaden Rising Sun to make an ill advised Dodge.

"I had no idea what the coach was saying," said Jaden after the game. "As a Saurus I've never dodged in my life.."

This miss-que unfortunately cost Jake Chant (Freshman, major - undecided) his life as the merciless Roquan Smith hit the perfect block that cracked the poor skinks head and sent him to the blessed afterlife. Coach Lancelott was seen to be visibly upset after the game.

"It's a great win, no doubt. Something we can build on. But, mistakes like those can happen, not if we want to get anywhere in this league. We need to learn from these mistakes and build on this momentum into the next week." Coach Lancelott.

One can only hope that this is the game that turns the terrapin season around.
