Lizardmen's Toughest Opponents
I was thinking how to accurately measure who Lizardmen's toughest opponents were, but only once you've learnt to use them. I also found the part of fummbl which tells me my active ranked Lizardman side is 6th on the list of total games. So I took the top 6 sides, and put their wins/losses into a spreadsheet and now we have the stats.

So here is the list from toughest to easiest:

Undead
Wood Elf
Dark Elf
Elf
Skaven
Dwarf
Necro
Amazon
Human
Vampire
Khemri
Chaos Dwarf
High Elf
Norse
Nurgle
Orc
Chaos
Ogre

So what do I think? Firstly I wonder about the accuracy of this, Chaos for example are famous for attracting newbs yet being quite difficult to play with. I should probably compare this to normal win % but I don't know where to find it.

I thought Dwarves and Chaos Dwarves would be higher with their supply of Tackle. Mostly, I was totally shocked at Wood Elves being so high on the list. I personally (at the time of writing) have a 7/0/1 record against them. The more I thought about it, the more I was amazed that fast teams were so high.

After thinking about it I have come up with a theory. In order to have a side that has played a lot of games, you generally need to build them tough. Maybe. At least, most higher Lizardmen sides I see have have lots of Block, Guard. This means you do well against stronger teams, and poorly against fast teams. Your team lives, but at the expense of your versatility. The only other side with a good win/loss against fast teams was Doowa's and he seems to build sides similar to mine - saursues taking lots of break tackle, and lots of side-stepping-diving-tackling skinks

So I guess the lesson here is that Lizardmen are totally customisable. Their skill selection will dictate how well you do against certain sides. Also good to see Chaos and Orcs right down there - although I suspect it is because so many new players use them because they seem so tough. Well your greenskin and mutations are no match for the power of the scales.

One last thing: I manipulated the data. I removed Halflings from the equation. I have never played them - but the reason I removed them, well....

Athough Gitzbang played them twice and won, certain coaches (cough, cough, cough) had each played 1 game against them and lost. Statistically, it put Halflings right on top of the list. Yes, statistically speaking, Halflings were actually lizardmen's toughest opponent. Oh, the shame. The pure shame and humiliation that I feel.

If those coaches are reading (COUGH, COUGH, COUGH) I order them to sit in a corner for five minutes and think about what they've done.
