So last night...
... I get a phone call from Purplegoo at 10:30pm saying that their 6th man on the defending Waterbowl Team has dropped out and they want me to join their team in Lucca to play Dark Elves.

Dream. come. true.

However, I would need to miss 3 days of work and as I am a headteacher I have about 100 meetings scheduled in to my diary. Dream. Shattered.

Sad to let Purp and the rest of the team down - would have been an awesome experience. I so wanted to go!!!
