Slann blitzers
They're a mystery to me. I think the team can work well without them but whenever they've all died - after starting with two blitzers - a slann team loses all character and I don't want to play them any more.

Encouraged by some examples here, I'm going to start a blackbox team that aims to have all four blitzers on the roster. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a viable way to get all four on a starting roster so I'm going out with 3 blitzers, 1 catcher and 3 rerolls. That should be somewhat competitive. I'll look to buy the fourth blitzer or fourth reroll first thing. With 20k left over from the starting roster it should take about 2-3 games hopefully.

I like the idea of developing two as killers (Block+MB+PO and MB+PO+Block) and two as side stepping annoyances (Block+Dodge+Side Step+Guard). That's obviously theory as I fully expect them to die in droves.

The fastest (best maybe?) way to get 4 blitzers is to skill them so that they live longer. I'd suggest starting krox, 2 blitzers, 3RR and the rest line. Score with the blitzers and buy more until you have 4, then you can develop catchers later. If you have catchers on your starting roster then you will be scoring with them, and they will be hogging all the SPP, at least in my experience that is what happens.

My slanns started with 3 blitzers and a catcher. I added the other catchers afterwards (and i quite regret the krox which i still don't dare adding now that i face high TV teams, so i would second happygrue here).

As for the development of blitzers, two killers is the way to go. Sidestepping annoyance also benefit a lot from shadowing, as a later skill maybe.
I managed to have two unhurted 30 game old blitzers, so i guess i'm not totally wrong :)

If you want them to become killers, don't take block at all. Just take MB, PO, Tackle, Frenzy and set Block aside. If you have one of those and 2-3 Blodge guys with perhaps Guard, the team becomes more competitive. The idea behind the blitzer (in my eyes) is to be able to get Blodge on a lot of players (8!!!) and so being able to reduce the rerolls needed and make the team a lot more durable.
Slann Blitzers are great!

Best to take Pile On as first pick. They start with Jump Up already, so there is no disadvantage from falling prone and they will be safer on the floor than they are standing up, because of the stupid fouling in CRP. Also Pilling On is the most effective bash weapon on its own, yes... thats right - it is statistically more effective than MB or Claw when used on its own.

Makes diving tackle worthless, though.

I usually tend to develop my blitzers into blodge sidestepping annoyances.

I like to go a different direction instead of killers going two ball attackers with wrestle strip ball and tackle, and the others as annoyances

Slann blitzers are brilliant. 2 x pomb is good, and needed to be competitive: agreed.

However, do consider giving (one of) the annoyer(s) stand firm instead of sidestep though. It may not give you as much power in the opponent's turn, but it's actually much harder to get off of a ball carrier.

I like to have one blodge ss guard and one blodge sf tackle.
