Learning to live with the fact that you're not that special after all
I came back to Fumbbl after a break of over a year thanks to the new FFB client. I found the client awesome, the quality of opponents very good and the chatting was nice as well.

I started out with a great record. After 32 FFB games (of which one was lost due to a bug) I had a, in my own opinion, spectacular winning record with a variety of teams. Every loss was due to very poor dice and there were at least a few draws which I should've won. Or so I thought...

Fast forward 7 games. The record for those games stands at 1-0-6. At around the fourth loss I was devastated. What on earth was wrong? Why did Nuffle hate me all of a sudden? Was the RNG broken after all? Hadn't I suffered enough?

But after yesterdays very enjoyable game - another loss - against asharak I suddenly felt calm. I'd done my best and the TV's were close (I was overdog by 30k). It was elves against elves and the dice felt even. So the likeliest explanation is that I'm just not that great after all. I'd been a bit picky on offering and accepting games at times. Now I'm looking forward to getting to play again and losing will be ok.

:) was definitely fun though! So long as you enjoye it too all is good :)

Oh, and I do have quite a lot more games played than you and you still kept it close so you're far from terrible. OK, we both made a couple of mistakes but that happens to basically everyone... see you for the rematch!

If more people were okay with losing we wouldn't have so much drama... alas, the competition and the drive to win ultimately makes us better. What are we to do?!?

Glad you're having fun... games should be fun. Win or lose - games should be fun.

an honest loss beats a picky win any day of the week

Nice to see a bit of self awareness - very refreshing.

great attitude. hard to always keep this in mind when the dice are driving your players into the muck...but essential to enjoying the game
