Yesterday I finally completed the E.L.F. cycle with my Blackbox pro elf team
Cult of Owlbear . I was missing a dwarf team and lucked out in drawing chaos dwarves. The
game itself was painful but well worth it in E.L.F. points.
I only had to play 13 games to complete the cycle which was nice, suggesting a lot of variety in the Blackbox. The only race I drew more than once were Norse, against whom I actually had to play 3 times, and Necromantic whom I faced 2 times.
I'm very proud of my elves. They held up well despite the numerous painful injuries (45 injuries). Due to all those injuries the TV of the team managed to break past the 1400 mark for only one match and is now in 1300 with 5 journeymen for next match.
A special mention goes to my +AG blitzer who scored over a third of all TD's (10 out of 29). Another highlight from the cycle is using the apothecary on the same blitzer on turn 2 (on a Badly Hurt result) to keep him in the game against Chaos Pact. The pitch was cleared of elves on the second half but the blitzer then went to score, after coming back from the KO box, the equalising score in turn 16 when the ref turned back the clock due to a riot.
E.L.F. was great, but now I'll turn my attention to my new human team. There's a few weeks of E.L.F. left but trying to increase E.L.F. scores to be in contention for the win is beyond me. Despite a winning record the gap to the top places is too wide.
