So I just played my 13th game on the 13th day of the 13th month (almost), after a week of not playing for reasons out of my power. I'm rusty, and still newbie.
The mini-leagues just started, so my TR100 team with 4 GRs, 2 SVs and 0 thrower played against an amazon team with a bucket of blockers led by a very nice coach. I lost 2-1 in a very fun and exciting match.

What did I learn today?
- an amazon thrower has a cool hat
- so does the amazon blocker
- and her 5 other blocker friends
- Amazons are dodgy. All of them.
- Seriously, don't forget the whole other team has Dodge, it helped him get that last TD.
- GRs can apparently throw
- Dodge is annoying when trying to put them on the ground
- Deactivate the keyboard's Click button. My turn ended very shortly from that, and it helped my opponent get a last-ditch-attempt TD.
- The cage. I now know skavens arent the best team to make one. But I still need to break it.
- Deployment. I can still do much better.
- I seem to get better at re-roll gestion. That's pretty good.
- pushing into the crowd means out of the way until next kick, sometimes more.
- I play "pretty bloody well". Or so my opponent says. That's good, thanks :)
- Need to continue experiencing new things... I got better at orcs and halflings for example, but other teams like lizards last time and amazons this time get me by surprise.
- All can fail. Even a 2D block with the Block skill and no RR left.
- All can also work unexpectedly. Even with no RR left.
- Getting on the ground someone with Block and Dodge is pretty damn hard.
- I blame rustiness, but I have a lot of improvement to do regarding blocks and assists.
- Foul. Can be useful. I didn't foul this game, I probably should have in the last turns. It can really help keeping someone down.
- Need to read more about creating injurys and foul ref-checks.
- Did I mention GRs are fast? Very fast. Got me my only TD, and my opponent told me if the game had 1 more turn he expected a tie.
- After 4 failed attempts and me about to snatch the ball in his zone, my opponent WILL succeed in picking up the ball with no RR and quickly put it back near scrimmage, leavng my weak GRs deep in his zone. This happens a lot lately.
- Cages can move too. Didn't see that one coming at all.
So a loss, but a very cool game and the rustiness is mostly washed away, I can return to my normal newbie state :)
Also, regarding GW's letter... that sucks. Big time. I'll definately put off buying a real skaven team (my group allows Warhammer models, which I have plenty) and I'll probably put stick figures as my player icons.
This also means the admins have better things to do than do the "see more blog posts" button I asked, so I put those in my profile. But for some reasons links dont work there.
And finally, special mention to Koadah for his 1 turn "throw the fling" TD in the very last turn of a semi-final game.
EDIT: oh and I must check if this is normal, but players in the KO box were hit by the crowd's rocks instead of the players on the pitch. I didnt know that could happen.

EDIT2 : thanks to Tamzarian, my profile is now cleaner. Also, I made myself some personalized icons for obvious news-related events, like I said earlier. Please go take a look (in my profile).
