So I just played another game in the 145 Mini-League100, against orcs. Hm, orcs, rings a bell! In a tightly-fought game, I fought my way to a 2-0 victory. So in the 100TR league, I'm 1-1-0 with 1 game left to play.

What did I learn today?
- standing 2 squares away. It means the only way for them to get a hit is move most players forward and do a single block (blitz). This slows down bashy teams a lot.
- Get the ball carrier. Most of the game, he had the ball caged and/or behind his line, which of course is a little bit stronger than mine. But they'll keep advancing slowly until I get the ball carrier as a distraction (or get a lucky breakthrough).
- Breaking the cage tactic #45 : cancel his block assists on a side, blitz the carrier with only 1D block but be sure to have a reroll in case. All thats needed is a ball-drop, then it's free game. (make sure I have a GR left to pick up the ball though).
- Re-roll gestion. I think I do pretty good, but I realized my opponents' isn't always great : good opportunity for me. No RR and a bunch of blocks to make means one will probably fail. Unfortunately, for some reason this isn't the case for passing, catching or picking the ball.
- Don't forget I don't need to put my liners in the wide zones touching the middle line : they can be 1 square back to avoid first-turn blocks.
- That 12th liner. This is the 2nd team/game I try with a 12th player, because I started realizing I lack players to be very competitive at the end of games (lots of KO/BH). And it did come in very handy! Noone waited to play in the 2nd half, and it let me keep a GR on the bench when I kicked.
- Using the opponent's weaknesses. Orcs are slow, that's how I scored my 1st TD. Orcs aren't too agile, that helped me a lot scoring my 2nd TD.
- Just because it says "play as many games as you can!" in the league rules, apparently that still means I get to play each team only once.
- Pictures in the gallery need to be approved. So instead of wasting the admins' time looking at extra pictures right now, I deleted them. My profile still links to them through Photobucket though.
- I'm 8-4-3 after 15 games. Like I say a couple times every game : wow, that went better than I expected!
- 8-2-0 in my last 10 games. I know I don't play the toughest coaches around, but I do look like I'm learning fast!
