The birds stopped singing when the carriage approached the entrance to the cave. The scout that had led the party nodded: “It is over here Mam’. He must be inside. Hardly ever comes out except for food.”

The woman in precious clothing appointed the entrance with the nose to the guardsman. The soldier, profesional as he was, approached cautiously with the naked dagger in his hand.

“Mr. Coixfer… are you around” shouted with the strong and potent voice. “Mr. Croixfer…” He felt noone could live in such a dirt and nauxious atmosphere. Probably the man they were searching would have died long ago.

Small and quiet noises came from inside the cave. Awesome, he thought, someone is alive down there.

After couple of minutes, a naked and bearded man stepped out into the daylight. His eyes were bleary. Dirty and unkempt hair and beard. Her body was extremely thin and ulcerated. He looked more like a demon out of the soldier's nightmares than someone who had been asked to search.

When the soldier recovered his courage, he handed over a piece of paper to the “ghost”. Was a headline from the Bilbali Courier, with some paragraphs under it.

“Bilbali to have a DLE franchise”, you could read in it. It was a headline from years ago.

The eyes of the “ghost” showed some surprise when his effort to understand were successful.

“Hello, my dear”, whispered the woman getting off the carriage. Her clear gaze and confortable smile was reassuring for everyone. But the beggar stood still without any noticeable reaction. “Long time since we last met.”

“You dirty witch… you took everything from me…” words were hardly understandable coming through the dirty beard.

“Easy boy” the soldier stood between them.

“It was neccesary, my dear. We were not in the best of terms with some officials. Remember the Maextu affair? We needed a scape goat and you were… available. You should understand” still smiling, white teeth under the sun. You could mistake her for an angel but her words hide dark facts.

Tense seconds went by… The “ghost” seemed to be too weak to be a treath. Note even in a word duel…

“Still, that was long ago, my sweetheart. You had time to forget. DLE officials had time to forget…”. The last words lasted in the air as an untold threat… She seemed to be thinking about the true meaning of the words could be…

“Now, darling, thing is… we have bought another DLE franchise. The Thunders or something like that. My husband and me believe you are the right person for the new job. We will appoint you as head coach of the team. You will also be GM for the time being. But you will hide who the true owners are. Is that aceptable to you? If so, this soldier will escot you to where the team is located. Some forgotten village in the middle of nowhere I think… and I will take care of you in the future, sweetheart. You will have nothing to regret. Do we have a deal?”
