Western Hemisphere Coaches!
Come join me in a community development project!

I want to improve the FUMBBL scene in the Western Hemisphere by building the NCBB into a "common ground" where RotW coaches from different circles bump into each other. Themed on USA college football, we have rivalry games with their own trophies, coaches' polls, player awards, and even keg stands! We have about 40 coaches, but there's no real limit to our expansion potential.

We have a couple house rules: the big one is that players "graduate" after 4 seasons. These players go on to play in the NBFL, so you can read about their exploits (and their obits) even after you've moved on to a new crop! Your first season you'd be in with the other rookie teams: we don't throw you to the wolves. This also weeds out the quitters. :)

Teams are college-themed: if you need help picking a school let me know: there are almost a hundred unused ones just in NCAA Division I. Anyone is welcome, so long as you're good to play while Europe sleeps.

There's one week to go in Season XVIII; Season XIX will probably run from April through June or July. It sure beats waiting for another coach to activate, but the memories are forever. What say you?

Disclaimer: This is not an official NCBB recruitment effort. I have it on good authority that expansion would be welcome, and I couldn't imagine commissioner Ex-Convict turning anyone away without some history or something. But I'm just another face in the crowd there, not posting this on any authority.

The NCBB competition committee approves of this message

So you have to be good to play 24h a day?

*confused*
Posted by Lorebass on 2014-03-14 18:39:31
Just be able to play evenings NA times. And likely other places!

Western from what? That's just silly. =P

This league is by far one of the most fun leagues I've ever played in. So, come one, come all! Can you make it to the National Championship? Or will you be stuck playing the McNurgle Bowl?
Posted by JackassRampant on 2014-03-14 19:31:02
Context, Sage. "Western" is relative: "Western Hemisphere" is not. Truth is, we're open to anyone who can play in American evening times, while Europe sleeps.
Posted by Cavetroll on 2014-03-14 19:49:59
Some Europeans do not sleep. I'm looking at you, Chainsaw!

Sounds cool.

Usually "Western Hemisphere" starts in UK. Isn't it?

Jar, Id prefer you call it the America's Timezones. Many Canadians and mexicans belong to this league.
Posted by JackassRampant on 2014-03-15 00:23:30
Canadians and Mexicans and Argentines and all, in my mind, are covered under "Americans of all stripes," but I'll edit.
Posted by JackassRampant on 2014-03-15 00:25:07
Wait, my only reference to anything like that that made the final cut is "USA college football" and that's a ref to the teams, not the coaches.

I need more Rocky Mountain or Pacific people in NCBB so I can quit keeping you east coasters up late.

Good League. I approve.

Also, Old World coaches are welcome too, if you like playing in the wee hours. This is a good league for Australians, Far Easterners and Pacific Islanders too, if you can play during the daytime.

At present I can. But as time continues later in the evening will become better for me. Could I still consider it? Love my college football, even if my favourite teams IRL are almost all taken!!

Yes, you would be quite welcome. It's a weekly schedule, not gonna break anybody's neck. Also, if temporary commitments screw you up, the short-ish season is rather nice, lets you take one off.

Any league these days has to have mechanisms for coping with life, and NCBB has several levels of fail-safe.
