NBFL Draft Grade Roundtable #2: NFC North
NBFL NFC North Draft Grading Roundtable

Chicago Coronablights (NEW!)
Skaven, Relezite
Last Season: 4-3-7 (with Vampires).
Needs: Rat Ogre, 2 Blitzers, 4 Gutter Runners, 1-2 Throwers, Linemen.
Draft Capital: 7, 39; Comp 1.3, 2.7, 3.5.
Trades: #C2.7 and #C3.5 traded up for #C2.4.
#7 Troy Smith [OHIO], Gutter Runner. +AG, Sure Hands, +AG, 34 SPP.
#39 Jeff Gladney (CB) #12 [TCU], Gutter Runner. Block, Strip Ball, Tackle, [Skill], 53 SPP.
#C1.3 Guillre Meyer [ITBA] [PIT], Blitzer. +AG, +AG, +ST, Tackle, Side Step, 84 SPP.
#C2.4 Steve Grogan [NE], Gutter Runner. +AG, Block, 24 SPP.
GPA: 4.00
• Bazakastine: A+
Just what a draft. Trade was well executed and got them a very good player. They are loaded with Agility (1 AG6, 2AG5, 4AG4) yet still come in small enough to rely on inducements. 3 different players could end up being all-star level players and the 4th fills a super functional role while still having the skill roll for a shot at something special.
• JackassRampant: A
Trading out of Pool III to get a third AG5+ player was an excellent move, and now the Coronablights should be a holy terror out the gate. This was one of the best draft classes this season.
• Arrested Development: A-
This is an insanely solid draft for the players the front office *just* missed out on. While they lack a one turn threat, nobody in the league is going to want to see this lot line up with a wizard, and with Meyer around they made not even need to pull the trigger on one to profit from it.
• Jeffro:
For real, folks? Were any of us paying any goddamn attention?!?! Relezite has an AG6 Gutter and an AG5 Blitzer?!... I can't even. You did this to yourselves.

Destroit Lynels
Chaos Dwarf, Dashergeaux
Last Season: 6-6-2.
Assets: 1 Bull Centaur, 5 Dwarfs, 1 decent Hobgoblin.
Needs: Bull Centaur, Dwarf or Hobgoblin, possibly a Minotaur.
Draft Capital: 19, 51.
#19 Ye Olde Stoneface [DUKE], Bull Centaur. Block, Mighty Blow, Tackle, Break Tackle, 52 SPP.
#51 Donovn Wilson [EnM], Hobgoblin. Wrestle, Tackle, Side Step, 34 SPP.
GPA: 2.67
• JackassRampant: B
The Bull Centaur is excellent but workmanlike. The gadfly Hobgoblin isn’t a bad pick either, but will probably be fitted for a pine box, or if lucky a retirement package in the lead mines, sooner than later.
• Bazakastine: B-
Two boring picks that fit their needs perfectly. They absolutely had to have a bull with that exact skill set and they got it. Hard to be down on that.
• Arrested Development: C+
Destroit needed a bull, they got a bull. And a bloaty hob who's useful. Very boring picks but covered all their bases. Nothing stands out and no risk taken. But that's fine.
• Jeffro:
I am making Ye Olde Stoneface thinking about how boring these picks were. Shame there aren't builders anymore so they could befall a serious injury before the start of the season.

Manglesota Vile Kings
Orc, Kzarik
Last Season: 6-6-2. Playoffs: #6 seed, 1-1.
Assets: 2 good Blitzers and 2 fair, 2 good Black Orcs and 1 fair.
Needs: Black Orc, Lineman, Troll.
Draft Capital: 25, 57.
#25 Dillon van der Wal [VAMP], Black Orc. Dodge, Block, Tackle, Mighty Blow, 57 SPP.
#57 Eternal Reward III [NV], Lineman. Dirty Player, Block, [Skill], 34 SPP.
GPA: 2.00
• JackassRampant: C
I’m not high on Dodge for Black Orcs, and it isn’t for a lack of trying. This guy is not going to ever have Guard and Stand Firm, and that’s a sin. Eternal Reward III would have been a good Denvork pick, but Manglesota’s Linemen are not yet so built-up that an all-Block/Fend line is attainable.
• Bazakastine: C-
I am pretty low on this one. First pick is a Black Orc missing one of the 2 key skills it needs that is far from the next skill. 2nd pick does get a boost with the skill role, but a 3-skill dirty player is a risk of bloat in a division where you want to stay lean
• Arrested Development: C+
Manglesota cover their needs but I hate a BoB without guard. It's literally the only skill they need. Happily Van Der Waal isn't too far off getting it. Another bloaty DP here, but well, if you're big orcs that is what you end up with.
• Jeffro:
I find it funny that one, JackassRampant, has given us the structure of this and under "NEEDS"... JR put "TROLL". Is he trolling us? Is he trolling himself?! Did drafting an AG5 player give him the impetus to think outside the box and now he consider trolls a worthy addition to an Orc team?! Regardless... the Dirty Player ain't a troll. Which is a shame.

Green Baynana Grabbers
Simyin, Happygrue
Last Season: 8-5-1. Playoffs: #2 seed, 0-1.
Assets: 4 Gorillas, decent Chimps, a couple good Bonobos.
Needs: Silverback, maybe an Orangutan and/or Bonobo.
Draft Capital: 28, 60.
#28 Ki’Rezna Nogthar [FSU], Orangutan. Block, Side Step, Tackle, Diving Tackle, 51 SPP.
#60 Chris Marve [VAMP], Bonobo. Wrestle, Kick, 20 SPP.
GPA: 2.57
• JackassRampant: B-
Nogthar will be fun until he’s not, while Marve is just kinda useful. Yawn. You may say, “but Grue had weak draft value,” but the pick behind this one, Marc Brown the cog-blitzer wannabe, would have had a lot more longevity potential, and thus could have had a bigger impact on the team’s success, with comparable immediate power.
• Bazakastine: C+
This is a hard grade to give as in reality the grade should be “Its Grue”. It fits what he wants to do well, and we all know he will maximize its value. Still the first pick is an odd fit on a MA5 player and the 2nd gives you 2 skills you want but nothing that stands out.
• Arrested Development: B-
Greenbay reach out for an experiment and take a kicker as well. Nothing grabs you here, and really that's by choice. The base roster is fine, the bigs on board were nothing special, and apes have particular needs that were hard to service from the board. Not sure about the orangutan pick, but who can fault HC Grue for having some fun? There wasn't much else to do.
• Jeffro:
You can take the coach away from the frogs, but you can't take the frogs out of Grue's slimy wart-ridden mind. I must now look for some of my own feces to toss about...
