Team Design Ruleset
As mentioned on the recent FUMBBL Podcast by PurpleChest, I'm trying to make a ruleset whereby anyone can design and create a team that should be more or less balanced and in keeping with how the official teams were done.

The ruleset was designed by analyzing all the players in the core 24 teams to try to identify what rules seemed to be followed that resulted in the balance we have today. However, a few of the players have too much, or too little, compared to other players of the same price. While we all know and love those teams, the ruleset wouldn't allow those players (for that price! the player is FINE, but not costed correctly) - not because we don't want the core teams, but because if you create a rule based on those players it leads to much more abusive players (Imagine starting with several Str 4 mighty blow claw guard player for 110k). None of the mechanics change; the only thing this ruleset does is define the cost of players (for any stat and skill combination). I'd love to change mechanics, but that's far outside the scope of what I can do here.

We all know that at some time or other we tried to design a super cool team, posted it on the forums, and got to hear other people say 'ugh, thats overpowered/got too much wackiness/is too messy/doesn't match MY view of bb!'. Well, here, we WANT you to design teams - and I'm trying specifically to come up with a ruleset where we say YES, every time.

Together we can practice and make new races, experiment with them and play them online, and get to play all of those cool thoughts swimming around in our heads.

Been messing around with this trying to understand it. Making teams and seeing if they fit the rules and at what cost. Then I tried to make something to push limits. I think this team is possible:

0-2 7348 Block, Dodge GA 150k
0-2 9237 Block, Guard GA 110k
0-4 7337 Block GA 80k
0-16 5337 Block, Thick Skull G 60k
60k RR

This looks like great fun, and very good (low TW esp.), albeit with av7.

I miswrote the block rules. I got too caught up trying to explain Norse and dwarves and forgot some of the basics. Your team would be limited to 2 block.

Ok, a new go. I wanted to make a team with 0-16 Block, and to use the 20k discount for AV7, so I'm still in with that thought. Turned out like this:

0-2 6439 SF GS 150k
0-4 6337 Block, Tackle GSM 90k
0-2 8237 Guard, FA GA 70k
0-16 5337 Block, Thick skull G 60k
70k rerolls

I think I got all the costs right. This looks like some sort of chaos team that I'd be interested in playing. Could have gotten MA9, but paying 100k for ST2Av7 without dodge seems wasteful.
