Presenting: Innsbruck Stadium!
Unfortunately not a *real* stadium. Only minecraft. I finished a whole bunch of work weeks before the deadlines so I had time to screw around and make this;

Innsbruck stadium. I counted up the number of chairs, and assumed for the standing-bits that 2 people could fit in each square meter to approximate to 5000 spectator capacity.

One of the dugouts. This one's for the home team, so each seat has a sign with the name and number of one of the players from my box skaven. The away team dugout is identical, but no signs.

The tunnel leading from the dugout to the pitch!

An overhead view of the pitch. I built it to be to scale with the board's dimensions; every square on the board is a 4x4 square on this field, making it 104 squares long and 60 squares wide. I always figured that saying each square was 4 metres long/wide was the best approximation for bloodbowl to real life.

One of the two dungeons where foulers, secret weaponers and unruly fans are kept

The away team's infirmary, where the apothecary and injured/dead players go after each drive.

Beds for the patients, books for the apothecary (he doesn't actually know what he's doing).

Some of the seats lining the side of the pitch. These spots are for the wealthy and those who snuck in, most spectators watch from the standing areas behind each endzone.

The pressbox, located midpitch. Perfect view for the Cabalvision cameras and folks back home. There's also spots for cameras on the four towers at each corner of the pitch, for different angles. And, if you're *very* rich, you can pay for a spot in the box with the cameras.

A view from inside the box.

Dunno why I did this, just got bored and started one day and then I couldn't stop till I was done. Maybe I'll get some *real* work done now that it's finished...

I'm impressed. But the 4m to a square thing, really? A player's tackle zone is 12m by 12m? I'd have figured more like 2 metres per square, at the most...

You need to get a video done. :)

My 8-year-old daughter salutes you! Now, what server is it on so she can come grief you?

I like it, good job.

Incidently i've not played Minecraft, how many hours does it take to put something like this together?

blader; if there was a way to play blood bowl in minecraft, that'd be amazing.

xnoelx; I always thought of the tacklezones being abstractions, so players can dash around over short periods of time to stop up others, and each turn isn't instantaneous. Makes it feel more real.

Hamsteren; you mean a video tour of the stadium? hehe maybe...

mogul; Not actually on a server, and I built it in creative (yeah I know lame) but if she/you/anyone wants to see it I can post up a world file somewhere.

Ranensol; Thanks! Not quite sure how long it took me; I drew out a perimeter for the field with stone then had to fill it in with green/white/dark green wool, which took a long time and was really repetitive. Designing the initial areas (bleachers, boxes, towers etc.) obviously took a lot longer than replicating them afterwards. I'd say it was somewhere from 4 to 10 hours total, didn't really keep track of time. Again, this is creative mode where I can fly and have infinite blocks of everything, so if you really want to dig up and smooth out that much stone, it'll take much much longer.

Hmm 4-10 hours sounds pretty reasonable actually considering what you've created, even in this 'unlimited' mode.

Thanks, i might just take a look at Minecraft.
