SESSION ONE
I'm just trying to get the rules read, absorb everything, get the reading done on the FUMBBL website, down load the client, and maybe even play a game in the academy.

If you want an easy win - and don't mind teaching/coaching me how to play the game, then contact me.

Also, most things aren't working right due to server move. don't panic if something untoward happens!

LOL @ pythrr! :D

Thanks Macavity. I got the client running, doing lots of reading, and am about to work on the irc chat deal.

When you talk about something 'untoward' happening, I assume you mean in a game? Or -perhaps- there is a potential issue when firing up the game client and/or IRC?

Thanks!

I think he is referring to Spooneh.

IRC, actually

Welcome and good luck!

As mentioned, things arent at full speed at the moment, so please be patient if you cant get a game going today!

IRC is down. It's highly unusual. The talk about direct connect makes me believe hostiing games via sita is also impossible right now... so just relax, you joined at a very unfortunate time.

Maybe you should focus on the questions: Are you familiar with the game itself? In what ruleset did you learn the rules? Please be aware that two different rulesets are used on the site: LRB4 and CRP rules. CRP rules are yet in the testing stage but will replace the old client entirely in the very near future.
All the rules versions you can find easily via google, the most up to date one from GW I guess. :)

Enjoy the best BB site in the known universe!

Tip: Always move before rolling dice!

@ MrFoxTalbot - well noted! I bet I do it anyway, and then yell DOH!
@ Garion - Thanks! Hope to play this weekend - I'm still reading! :O
@ harvestmouse - Thanks! I'm patient... for a while anyway ;)

@ Wreckage - I learned to play Dungeon Bowl actually, like 12 years ago. I did play a BB demo at my LGS over a year ago, but am unsure of the rule version. Following the User Guide - I set up my 'stuff' here at FUMBBL to be LRB4.

I didn't know the IRC was down, but I'm not sure I would have discovered that since I couldn't seem to get it running on my home PC (Shhh... I'm at work right now *snicker). I did the addon ChatZilla for my FireFox browser - but couldn't seem to get it going.

Welcome to fumbbl !

When you start a team, be sure to have three rerolls and as high fan factor you can get. This is a tip for LRB4 rules. For CRP rules (used in the [F] division) you have no need to buy fan factor, but rerolls are still important !

What's the team you like most ? Or if you don't have one, what are you going to try first ? :)

Thanks Ancre!

I will be sure to take your advice on (3) rerolls & fan factor.

I have no team. I have teams/minis in my garage that are in various stages of painting/primering, but my favorites are: Halflings, Ogres, Goblins, and Lizardmen. I think my top two would be a Halfling team w/a Treeant, and an Ogre team w/some goblins.

To get the rules down, I may try humans or orcs first as I hear they're the easiest to pick-up and learn.
