The Grotty Little Newspaper is proud to present the Grotty Little Tournament: The best FUMBBL teams competing for the coveted Grotty Little Trophy. Tournament draw starts 22.00pm server time Wednesday 15th May 2024 Any Competitive team can apply here to the High TV qualifiers. (1500+ TV) Any Competitive team can apply here to the New Team qualifiers. (15 games or less on the team) Any Competitive team of one of the following races can apply here to the Forlorn Races qualifiers. (Amazons; Chaos Renegades; Goblin; Gnome; Halfling; Norse; Ogres ; Black Orcs; Imperial Nobility; Khorne; Old World Alliance; Snotlings.) Specialty Qualifiers: Any Competitive team can apply here. One Specialty Qualifier will be for coaches from the 145 club. The decision on who counts as being a 145er rests with the 145 admin team and their decision will be final. If you are applying to this qualifier please talk to the 145 admin team so we know that is your intention. Any additional Specialty qualifier's will be open to anyone. So if you have a team with more than 15 games but under 1500 TV that doesn't fit in forlorn this is the spot to apply. Like last year we are not going to try to force 4 qualifiers into each section but instead spread the 16 around in a way that keeps the qualifiers as close to a consistent size as possible. Note you can only apply a team to one of the 4 qualifier types above. Prizes The winner of the GLT will be rewarded with the choice of a secret weapon from Ball and Chain (player gets MA3/ST7/No Hands), Chainsaw, or Pogo stick (pogo stick, no secret weapon). They will carry the secret weapon trait which will follow normal rules. Due to the unique nature of these weapons they can only be given to rookie linemen as they have to train with some Goblins to learn how to use them. On top of this there will be dynamic gold throughout the finals.

Bloodbowl Championship Series [BCS] is a new group aiming to be a nice community with good attitude coaches.

Concept:
Draft league with with developing players.
Different divisions for different teams, currently active are:

• Ulthuan First (Elven league with custom rosters)
  
• Kislev Premier Alliance (Secret League 2020 teams, with some exceptions)
  

How it works?
You choose skill sets to your players from a draft pool taking turns with your rival coaches in the drafting phase.
Draft pools are arranged by player types (Blitzer, Catcher, etc.) so different teams can draft from same pool.
Then you make a Team Captain and fill the team to 16 players with rookies. After that you are about ready to play the season.

There are many additional mechanics (and requirements), during the season and between seasons to make it interesting in the long run. But these you can learn along the way.

Hi everyone! I am playing in the Snot league (ACTIVELY RECRUITING!!!), and as a fun project I wrote some short stories about my adventures in the league, in persona of Joseph Morranion.

I originally uploaded them in the league's forum. I did not really plan on writing a coherent story, but sometimes our favorite game creates stories better than any writer could. My 2nd season was exactly that. So I decided to upload both parts to AO3, and while Season One is a bit all over the place, Season Two turned out really well as a proper story.

DLE Season 15 is just about to reach its half-way point.

The league is looking to recruit one coach in time for the second half of the schedule and then for interested coaches who might want to join the reserve list.

DLE is an all-human draft league, so at the end of season, a draft is held so teams can replenish for the upcoming season.

We have customisable teams icons and great friendly discord. It's also one of the longest running league on the site, and we still have original coaches from all the way from season 1 so you know it's good.

Its a great group of coaches, committed to 10 day rounds with divisional rivalries and year end awards, all based on NFL style league play.

It's a great opportunity to take over a team and shape it for this season and prepare to put your own stamp on it for a new season in s16.

The Bloodseekers ended up being one of the most time consuming bits of the team. I prefer a black undercoat, but with all that bone armour it ended up taking a long time to complete them. Aside from the team captain they didn’t have much different, it was just painting his face and the severed heads which was a little different.

Choosing a skin colour for him was difficult as red was the obvious choice. I ended up selecting a slightly more purpley red, with pink added for highlights as the armour trims were a more brown red with orange highlights. The veins on his arms were painted in a much more blue/purple colour to help them stand out. He didn’t have much armour and was relatively quick to paint.




With the main team done it was on to the stars.

Max was pretty straightforward as he didn’t differ that much from the marauders. I did make his chainsaw a bit rusty and gunked up with blood from all the opponents he’s taken it to. His tabard did turn out really well and I liked that it got the highlights just right.




Akhorne is very small and pretty simple to paint. I aimed for the natural look of a red squirrel with brown added for shading and orange for highlighting, with a pale underbelly. Normally I try to paint highlights as smooth as possible, but for him (and to a lesser extent the khorngors) I left small lines to better represent fur. I did look up acorns and painted that green rather than the brown I normally associated with them. The dead dwarf ended up taking longer, he followed the colour scheme of the grudgebringers and had some gore added round his wounds.





Granshnak proved quite tricky as the art normally depicts him with black fur, but I wanted him to have black shorts. I settled for black hair and shorts with minimal highlights and dark grey skin which had flesh tones added for his face and chest. As his t-shirt was pretty ripped I painted the highlights a little messier on that to indicate both damage and greying from it being an old material. The flesh hound head was also painted a more maroon red, to avoid clashing with the armour trim. For his horns, claws and hooves I went with grey shading over brown.




Team has since been numbered and varnished and handed over, ready for the GT this weekend.



I have also been experimenting with the camera on my new phone and a grey background. It’s always weird how different a model can look depending on the lighting and background. Am often disappointed at how some pics turn out. Oddly the back views always seem to end up the best.







With them done I now need to look for a new project. Still have 4 teams to go and gnomes just got added.
