Leagues I Play In (And Why You Should Too)
So... you're new to the site and have got a few games under your belt. Or you're getting bored logging onto gamefinder with your goblins only to be offered games by teams ~900k tv above you. Maybe box play is getting you down, after all there's only so many nurgle teams you can face before the rot sets in.
I offer an alternative. It's called league play!
Custom rulesets offer an interesting and unique take upon the game we love. There's currently 2 leagues I play in who are actively recruiting for next season so now is a great time to jump on.

Super 7s is 7 a side blood bowl. All 24 races are available to play and basically the only roster restrictions half the number of positionals each team can take. It's fun, it's frantic, it's fast. Games last roughly 30 minutes and with custom skill levels your players get their first skill at 3spp.
If you've fancied trying to build a pseudo-elf chaos team or a passing goblin team (you nutter) then this is the format for you. There are oceanic, european and americas timezone leagues so you can join a league where you'll only be playing people in the time zones that are easiest for you.

The Human Euro Draft League (https://fumbbl.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=27665) is also recruiting for its inaugural season. This is a human only (team, not coach) league using a draft system similar to the NFL (or as I prefer to think of it, like captains picking teams in a lunchtime kickabout when you were at school). The league is designed to be for coaches available to play in the euro time zones.
The players available in the draft have a range of 1-4 skills ranging across the board from doubles, multiple stat boosts etc. In addition you get to pick a franchise player who has free reign to 80k of skills of your choice (I went for a block, tackle, PO ogre for example).
If you're interested in playing already developed teams in a environment very similar to a football league (no inducements are allowed, no TV limits, everybody has 3 rerolls, apoth) then this is the league for you. It's very different to any league I have experience with on the site and should be great fun.
Only 2 or 3 places are left so post on the thread or PM bghandras asap if you're interested.

I think that's a lot of the worries that people have JB, the time commitment.
It was the reason it took me so long to be involved with leagues and I'm not gonna deny it isn't still occasionally a problem for me.
On the other hand, I found playing in leagues to be possibly (IMO) the most rewarding means of play on here. I love the development aspect to BB and that seems amplified in a league format. Or more balanced maybe. No picking, everyone plays everyone.
It was the reason it took me so long to be involved with leagues and I'm not gonna deny it isn't still occasionally a problem for me.

I played a season in the WIL a few years back, and it was great fun, although I've since moved to the US. I'm hoping to play in some more official tourneys, but if the time difference makes it difficult, I might well look into the [L] scene.
