It was 2nd half of the game between Scincids and NBOTFD, and Hypocaloric Hank lied on the ground with his skull fractured. The whole team gathered around him in anguish, every fan stopped to breathe, even the ref and the opponents showed signs of concern. He was loved by everyone. It has never been a Thrall as good as him in Stunty, everybody knows it.
The apo rushed on the pitch carrying a bag of surgical tools and bottles of healing potions, knelt beside Hank and started his work.
"No worries, boy" he said "I'll patch ya good. Now you just stand still and..."
"No." said Hank.
"What?"
"No" repeated Hank. "I'm done with Blood Bowl, doc. I played 80 games and had my share of pain and glory, you cannot even imagine how famous I became. I was 3 times on the cover of "The Weekly Grotty", had all the chicks I wanted, was invited to the FCC final to sing the Official Stunty Anthem along with Blarney Bill Bastidge and King Tot. I've had everything, now it's time to stop. They say it is an honor to die on the pitch, but I want to live. And besides, I am already crippled, and I am starting to become a burden for the team. Leave me be."
A group of girls started to scream on the terraces.
"Are you sure, boy?" asked the apo.
"Yes, sir. It's fine. Please just leave me be."
Someone swears that the Chief Sommelier Vlad was crying as he carried Hank out of the pitch, and a weird silence fell over the stadium. The game resumed, but nobody cared for the score anymore. After the match Crook declared:

"We'll be missing Hank forever, but he took this decision for the sake of the team. Our TV dropped a lot after his retirement, now we are a hell of a min/max team and can join the next major. We wish him all the best, it will never be a Thrall as good as him."

Hank is going to dedicate himself to gardening and travel, he already announced his incoming marriage and donated a big sum of money to T.A.I.R.C. (Thrall Armor Improving Research Center). His official autobiography, "Unbitten", will be released at the end of the year.
