Quest for perfection - DLE
This is an article of DLE's (Draft League Europe) Broekwater Patriots. If you are not interested in this league and its happenings, then you dont need to read further. If you are interested, then you are more than welcome to read on.

The title, Quest for perfection is a phrase originated from the 2007 NFL season when New England Patriots tried to make a perfect season, winning all games. On the other hand this blog is not about the team, but about the players. So not about winning all games, but about how the individual players are striving for perfection.

When the Broekwater Patriots front office drafts, or trades, and believe me there are lots of trades (quick search shows 50 hits), then the players are evaluated for 5 skill potential. Why 5 skills? Easy. Players skill at 6,16,31,51,76,176 spps, so it is quite manageable to skill some players until 76 spps, but not really feasible to reach 176. It does not make sense to put a player above 76 spp into MVP circulation. If a player has 4 skills, and 0 spps (that happens quite often as drafted players arrive without spps most of the time), then the spp cost of a skill is 76. Not a good business. If a player has 2 skills, then getting 3 skills for 76 spps makes more sense. If you add that a STAT or DOUBLE roll can significantly increase a players trade value, then you see that skilling rookies is good business, and skilling 4-5 skilled players is no good business. The average career of a player in DLE is below 3 seasons, so the team should make the most out of the player to get return on their investment.

All above explains quite well why the front office is prudent about spp distribution and why they do not budget for Legend skill at 176 spp...
...with that said there are some players on the Patriots roster that strive to acheive that anyway! Lets have a look at them, and YOU make a comment who do you think will make it to Legendhood FIRST, and who will DIE before thus never reaching Legendhood.

Douglas Winston - Representing 104 spp. Acquired from the steriod ridden White Wolves in the middle of the 3rd season, and quickly become the main killer of the team. He can cause a couple of CAS every game. He is not in the MVP loop, but might as well average about 5 spp a game going forward. His jump up skill makes him more dangerous, but also a target of opposing fouls. He earns the fasttrack on his own right, but will he survive that long?

Khalil Mack - Representing 86 spp. Acquired from the nasty Classics just before the 3rd season. He is a very useful member of the team, but not as spp hog as Winston is. He is stronger thus more robust than Winston, so has more chance to survive, but collects fewer spps recently. Not in the MVP loop. His production could increase drastically if something happens with Winston.

Blake 'The Boss' Bortles - Representing 121 spp. Acquired from the dodgy Gunners just before the 3rd season. He is key part why this team is winning, although he is not the main carrier in the regular season to skill someone else. (See next entry.) He is still there to clear up the mess when shit happens, and does so effectively, so he is collecting some spps along the way. He is not in the MVP loop, and is being targeted by opponents, but his teammates will try and protect him most of the time (with various success). There are still situations when he is on his own and does risky maneuvers.

Mike Glennon - Representing 55 spp. Drafted just before the current (4th) season. He is on the spp fast track scoring TDs and being also in the MVP loop, so he is expected to reach 76 spp by the end of this season. He had 2 skillups as a Patriot, and he rolled +AV both times. He is not expected to be on the fasttrack after 5th skill, but his high armor could make him a safe bet to eventually get to Legendhood. That might take 2-3 extra seasons though.

Who will succeed at the QUEST FOR PERFECTION? What do you think? Cast your vote, and your death sentence(s). Make it fun!

The boss is in best position as per my view.
Not only is he the nearest to legendhood bt his role in the team makes him score from time to time so good spps.
Also, he use to be protected from opposition and he receive less blocks than the standar for the rest of the players, which means his suvivability expectation is the highest, again due to his role as main BC.
So, my bet is on Bortles, obviously.

Bortles, no doubt.
