Jeff: Hey Nick, no holiday for you?
Nick: Nah...
Jeff: Everybody is packing for holiday. Ownership is rumored to fly to the warm seaside. I have literally came back to switch off the light.
Nick: I will switch it off when i leave, i wont be staying for long.
Jeff: Trade talk?
Nick: Not anymore. I am cooling it down.
Jeff: Are you still in contact with other teams?
Nick: Yes, a few of them sent some trade offers, and i promised to answer them all.
Jeff: Anything interesting?
Nick: Mildly interesting. But coach was here a few minutes ago, wearing sunglasses and a funny yellow hat. He expressed that he is VERY content with the roster at the moment, and no need for further move. I can tell that he switched into holiday mode today. He even assured that the owner agrees with him, quote: "No need to turn over all stones this time".
Jeff: Scouting approves! Glad Winston is staying with us! Narrow miss...
...All those trade rumors and alleged contract agreements.
We have him at really high regard, and he backed us up finally in ALL aspect of the scouting report in the last game versus Thunderbolts. So i am very happy that trade were nixed, and totally looking forward to build the team including him in the lineup.
Nick: Heh, so were you behind the coaches talk?
Jeff: That is a good joke. Dont you remember how he blasts scouting for any minor mistake?
Nick: Fair enough.
Jeff: Right. Anyway, i repeat, i am happy the trade got nixed. Winston and Brown were both talked about as trade baits.
Nick: Yeah, those curveballs. Complications. I promised to answer every inquiry. That is the main reason i am still here. But i am about to sent letters to the interested parties stating the offers were not good enough, and team is going on holiday.
Jeff: So first time in team history we really have a NO TRADE window?
Nick: Sure!
Jeff: Are you coming now? Shall i wait for you? Do you join us in the MarienBurger for a beer?
Nick: I will join you later, but dont wait for me. I finish the paperwork for newest trade acquisition Gene Upshaw and prepare his travelling itiniary. If someone meanwhile sends me a questionable offer, then it will be turned down. I will only accept the no brainer, and only if it arrives very soon. So expect me in the bar within an hour.
