Dungeonbowl Dust-Up: Results
Well - what a 48 hours that was!

Over 150 of you joined us for the NAF Live: Dungeonbowl Dust-Up this weekend, and we've seen four tournaments completed across three time zones.

Firstly, infamous Spanish ace (and apparent insomniac) Duke_Luthor_Von_Hawkfire / El_Conde_Chuzhor took out the Oceanic time zone with his Skaven and a tasty 4/2/0 record. Sharper's Khemri came second, and notably, D_Arquebus' Goblins put in a not too shabby 2/3/1. Many thanks to Foad for administering this group, although the Oceanics are always a well-behaved bunch. :)

Next, Europe was decided. Group A was dominated by World Cup winner Justicium and his Necro; his 6/0/0 was our one perfect record of the weekend. Always there or there abouts, Jokaero's Dwarfs followed Jerome home in second. In Group B, ione / Matte8 used his NAF staff powers to overcome a cracking field with his Chaos Dwarfs: 5/1/0. Fellow Italian legend Spartako was second with Woodies and a 4/2/0 record. A word here for Endrophil: a brilliant Goblin 3/1/2 in among half of the Eurobowl, or so it seemed.

Lastly, the Americas are just finishing up as I write. Throweck has taken the crown here; a 5/1/0 run with Dwarfs. rug-thug's Lizardmen were a close second on 4/2/0. No Stunties to speak of here, but I guess Dwarfs sort of count! Lots of FUMBBL big cheeses in this group, so a notable feather in Throweck's cap, I'd say.

I'd like to thank all of you for joining us and playing the tournament, I hope it was a nice distraction at a tough time for us all. Mike / Sann will be uploading the data to the NAF database in a few days (for those of you that are NAF members. Remember, these results will live in the 'Online' variant section). I'd also like to thank Christer, neilwat and the rest of the FUMBBL staff, who have been around all weekend and have been an enormous help with little things here and there. PurpleChest's Discord commentary was a real highlight, I've enjoyed GnoblarBezer's blogs, and the chat in the Discord all weekend has been fun. Sann did some Facebook Live, and I know there was also some other streaming. Thanks to all of you for helping fluff the tournament up as we went along. Finally, and most importantly, thanks to my admin helpers, especially Foad, for keeping things ticking over.

We intend to bring NAF Live back in a couple of weeks. We'll go off and evaluate how this tournament went and what we can do better / differently next time, but if you want more, please keep an eye on the news and you'll very likely get more. If you have any thoughts about next time, please let us know. Those of you that came to FUMBBL or came back to FUMBBL to join the tournament: it's alright, isn't it? Stick around. :)

Thanks, and keep safe and well!

Phil / Purplegoo.

As i said on Discord, awesome fun and many thanks to you Purplegoo, Christer and all the people who supported. Enjoyed it. Also am intrigued at the high amount of Woodies and Humans in the American zone (not sure if that translated to others... be interested to see some sort of racial breakdowns). Top stuff and bring on the next one!
Posted by neilwat on 2020-03-30 09:00:16
Was amazing fun! Would get involved next time for sure.

A 4 game one day tournament would work well IMO as games on here are a bit quicker.
Posted by ClayInfinity on 2020-03-30 11:56:39
Yeah i agree... even 5 games if you can... 1.25hr games on fumbbl vs 2+ on TT

It’s an interesting thought / idea, and I’ve fed it into our thinking for the future. You might be surprised - a couple of rounds did go to time on the weekend and one went over by 20 mins. Things come up at home, people need to eat, smoke, etc. A break is welcome at times, games routinely took 15-20 mins to get going as people had a quick moment away from their monitor. I don’t think that we could truncate round timings too far, and five games at two hours a go is a long old day. But, as I say, one-dayers are on the table as a potential future event.

thx for all phil !
