Last game was huge success for the Swan Riders.

First, we had the debut of the biggest Star of the Halfling Football, Deeproot Strongbrach with the colors of our team. It was also his 23rd appearance in CIBBL with Halfling teams and it will not be the last from what we have heard. Deeproot and the Club Board had confirmed that the Treeman Star agreed to help in some (or all, the exact terms of the contract has not been disclosed) games for the next Empire Championship. Deeproot said that he cannot leave without help the Swan Riders in this difficult championship and he wants to aid in their effort to achieve the realistic target to avoid the last place! Other stars are also approached to see if they are available such as Vinny Valhalla, Puggy Baconbreath and Willow. The opponents are very scary and every addition in the roster should help.

Secondly the game ended in a huge 2-0 win against Scrapheap Scrappers! (https://fumbbl.com/p/match?id=4285222 ) . Swan Riders managed to equalize the record of the biggest win for a Halfling Team in the CIBBL: Hilshire Culinary College ( https://fumbbl.com/p/match?id=3901421 ) and the infamous Lords of the Harvest ( https://fumbbl.com/p/match?id=4117762 ) had managed in the past to smash their opponents so emphatically (curiously victims in the both games were Beastmen). The 3 Trees build were huge obstacle against the Golems, who did not find any solution against. Unfortunately, for the Scrappers their defeat meant that they cannot any more win the division title. This title is going to be decided between the mighty Snotling Sabotage Spitepeak and the Strigoi Corpse Run Nightmares.

The Strigoi team is also our next opponent who will come next week in Eichenschatten. Though we want to repeat the feat and knocked down another one title contender such as the Scrapper, Nightmares are going to be a very strong and fearful opponent. They are yet undefeated in the league with 13 Points (4 W and 1 D against the Scrappers) and they probably have the best roster in the division.

Strigoi and Halflings have not met yet in the CIBBL, so this game will be their first. But it should have been at least one game between them... Yes, it is time to open again the big black page of the Halfling football, the Eichenschatten Grand Feast, where the host Lords of the Harvest disappeared! The tournament was a huge PR disaster, since not only the Lords of the Harvest disappeared, but also one another Squig team dropped out. Instead of 3 games pro round (for a total of 15 Games), the spectators managed to see only 7 games played. Accusations for irresponsibility, incompetence and amateurism were directed against the Halfling Football Federation and stigmatized the Moot for ever. Winner was one Strigoi Team the Strigos Elita (https://fumbbl.com/p/team?op=view&team_id=872044 ) in a threeway race against Night Goblins and one Ogre Kingdom team. The first game of the Lords of the Harvest was scheduled to be against the Strigos Elita and nobody was prepared for the coming shock.

So for us the Halfling nation the game of the Swan Riders against the Nightmares is going to be a redemption game. Only the fact that we will play the game is for us the step to erase any black spots in the history of Halfling Football in CIBBL and establish ourselves as equal partners in this huge and respected Organization.

The uniqueness of this particular game is that it follows an old non NAF – variation of the sport, where every team fields 15 players and no forward pass is allowed.
