[Stunty] Building a Team on a Specific Game Mechanic
So while these are roster suggestions, I only use them to point out the type of game mechanics that available in new client. Things that used to be lame are now plausible.

__Azorothites__ (think Chaos Dorf version of gnomes.... lovers of machinery and implements of torture)

0 - 16: Azor 4 2 3 8 dodge, stunty, thick skull, right stuff, thrall
0 - 4: Hewer 4 2 3 8 thick skull, thrall, right stuff, chainsaw, loner
0 - 2: Iron Hands 5 2 3 7 dodge, thick skull, big hand, fend, stunty (imagine these are armorless gnomes strapped into heavily mechanized arm braces. They use it for hoovering up the ball and holding off attackers).
0 - 1: Hell Cannon 3 5 3 10 MB, Bloodlust, Loner, TTM, Hail Mary Pass, Always hungry

__Squig Tribe__ (replacement for squigs accounting for what they really could be)

0 - 2: Prodders 6 2 3 7 dodge, stunty, thrall, TTM (wait for it...)
0 - 16: Herders 6 2 3 6 dodge, stunty, thrall (notice.... no right stuff...)
0 - 4: Cave Squigs 4 3 1 8 Piling On, Ball and Chain, Right Stuff, Really Stupid (does this work?)
0 - 1: Mangler Squig 3 7 1 8 MB, Piling On, Ball and Chain

The thing about these teams (besides the fact that they probably will be mocked) is that they are based around either chainsaws (the daemon engine gnomes) or ball and chains (squigs). These are two weapons that were not feasible to create a team off of back in LRB4 (when chainsaws needed to start up and ball and chains had to go first and die).

Think of some of the other mechanics to base a team around...

ST1 players with dauntless require a 2+ to block a gobbo. I am sure there are a few ST1 teams that could use this!

Grab on every player? Maybe that's a good game mechanic basis for a Circus/Carnival themed team!

Many teams have bombs. Disturbing Presence starting on a 0-2 type player (think head carver types)... could be fun!

Leap and VLL? Bring it!

All of these are viable.

Btw... in case no one has tried it...

If you come into contact with a prone player, you get to push him and then make an AV roll against him. It is so badass!

Did you miss putting bloodlust on the ball & chain players?

The Chaos Gnomes looks like it has a few interesting ideas that would go well with the Chaos Dwarf inspired Daemondroids team that's been floating around for a while. I tried reviving it a while ago. I love the background for it. I'd love to see you add some of your ideas to that original idea. I think it could be a very interesting addition to Stunty.

I like the way you are thinking with the squigs. I think the team needs a revamp from it's pogo inspired orgins. It looks like you've got some interesting ideas. I hope Whatball takes them into account when he starts trying to fix up Stunty.

where's the fluff?

can't design a team without backstory fluff first...

fail...

From http://fumbbl.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=12534&highlight=daemondroids

FLUFF We've seen robot roster proposals. Generic Sci-Fi stuff with no connection to the "Warhammer Universe". There was talk of playing up the Psyberfantasy element of the BloodBowl background. Well, I think the CD Daemon Engine concept does a great job of mixing these two elements. If you've seen the latest Hell Canon with its Chaos Dwarf crew, you might have an idea of where I'm heading or at least what inspired me. Dwarves are known for their technological prowess (Gyrocopter, Deathroller, etc.). And the Chaos Dwarves are even more sinister with their inventions (I'll let the old time fluffsters fill you in on some of their mechanical machinations).

When their 2505 proposal to enter into the Stunty Leeg a team made up exclusively of their hobgoblin slaves was rejected because "hobgoblins just aren't stunty, no matter how stunted their brains may be", the stubborn Chaos Dwarves vowed to return in a few years with an offer the Leeg commissioner couldn't refuse. Deep in the volcanic depths of Kal-Garak, they laboured in secrecy. Blue prints were drawn, molten steel was shaped, weapons were crafted, goblin slaves were gathered, daemons were summoned and all were fused into fierce small daemonic engines. Some were purely mechanical beings with the spirits of daemons powering them, while others were crippled goblin slaves given a new life with grafted mechanical and daemonic components but one thing was certain; these new creations "were stunty, no matter how tormented and disfigured". In 2508 the Kal-Garak Stompeders demanded entry into the Stunty Leeg and screams of joy and torment filled the Stunty Leeg Stadiums during their volcanic inaugural season.

The Squig Tribe.... never did I meet a stranger group of savages.

It was deep in the heart of the Bad Moon mountains where long valleys and craggy cliffs create all the natural barriers needed to spawn various goblin tribes.

Well 300 years ago, a volcanic eruption triggered a massive landslide and blocked off the passes connecting the Krag valley to the outside world.

Stranded from the outside world, these goblins found themselves eventually getting outnumbered by the squigs that were endemic to the cave complexes dotting the valley sides.

The first 100 years saw the goblins hunt the squigs into near extinction as they had rapidly eaten most of the animals that called the valley home. Birds even learned to fly clear.

Seeing the collapse of the valley's food chain, a wise chieftain proposed domesticating the food source.

During this time, the goblins came to worship the cave squigs. They used every part of the kill, and the squigs grew extra fat on the fungus that the goblins were able to grow.

The Squig Tribe was born, but had long forgotten what lies beyond their valley.

And then one day, 300 years to the day of the original volcanic eruption occurred, a great fire filled the skies and the ground was torn asunder. The Bad Moon mountains were once again shaken to their core, but this time from a comet hailing from the sky.

The Squig Tribe looked upon the rest of the world for the first time in 5 generations. Everything was new.

New sources of food and drink.... new races.... new roads.

No one knows where they first saw Bloodbowl. Rumor has it that it was natural for a rag tag group of goblins obsessed with large leathery creatures with fangs sticking out of their face to find find Bloodbowl so fascinating. The ball does look like a smaller version of a cave squig....

"think Chaos Dorf version of gnomes.... lovers of machinery and implements of torture"

So these teams were inspired by your love-life then ehh?

Look interesting and I would try them for sure

Gots to try the pushing prone player thing.
Posted by PsyPhiGrad on 2012-10-13 10:16:20
The pushing prone players with Stompers (daemondroids with big hydraulic legs) and stomping them into the ground with little ST2 Ball and Chain players was at the heart of the last version of my take on the old Chaos Dwarf entry into the Stunty Division.

I think it's a great idea, and wouldn't be disappointed if it appeared in either a Daemondroid or revamped Squig team.

Nice ideas Synn.

ANother thing I would love to see, is a Halfling team for stunty similar to the Cheaters. Halfling Kitchen crew or similar...
Posted by happygrue on 2012-10-13 13:29:43
One note: B&C can't have MB or PO, as what B&C does is a "move action", so per the rules (and client implementation) MB and PO are not going to work. There was a big discussion of this during testing, I think I am summarizing accurately.
Posted by WhatBall on 2012-10-13 15:26:37
Some great ideas Synn. I am sure some of this will eventually make it into a new team or a revamp of an existing team.
Posted by shadow46x2 on 2012-10-17 14:40:29
psyphi: pulling someone else's generated fluff and applying it to a preconceived roster design doesn't work...

try again...
