First half was a pain to watch. No one running to open spaces, no one trying to draw defenders off position... no one willing to take responsabilities. Bleh.

Disappointing Capello too. No ideas.

Based on England and France's performance so far can we not kick both them out and get Scotland and Republic or Ireland in instead?

Worst performance I've ever seen from an England side and we still didn't actually lose the game.

We didn't have anyone sent off for no reason what so ever so miss the next game.

Goalkeeper didn't brain fart.

'Only' need to win the next game to qualify. France would take that right now ;)

Poor performances indeed, though I always felt USA and Algeria were better teams than Slovenia, a feeling reinforced after watching Slovenia's awful performance against Algeria right up till the sending-off.

I didnt see the game but I was pleased with the result!

Obviously Northen Ireland won't have a pups chance of getting to the World Cup but I do enjoy watching England lose, if only to listen to the excuses afterwards!

I'm following the Argies this tournament and want them to do well, mostly because Maradonna is a loon, Gitierrez is my favourite player and they play some great stuff

It was shoddy.

Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard were all terrible. No one was good. Some, like Barry, and Defoe/Crouch when they got on, did looka tiny bit interested, but the rest looked like they couldnt give a rats arse.

Algeria bring on, as sub, an fringe player used maunly as a sub by a championship team, we have a line up of Premiership stars, and its the dodgy algerian that runs his guts out.

They just don;t look bothered.

Sack the lot and bring in a new generation, that hopefully want to play.

itss not freaking brits its the english grrr. and grrr again after that peice oshite performance. the manager showed just what a clueless twat he can be ;-/ wrong formation and wrong team selection. 4-4-2 is so 90s and the players we have ddont even play 4-4-2 anymore ;-/. fabio piss off and give the fa their money back !

I'm not as fortunate to be able to see EPL or the other top leagues on a regular basis. Having said that, what I can offer is that it takes Mr. Rooney about 55 minutes to get really into his groove, and then starts to play havoc on defenses. In truth, England just seems to feel that they are "entitled" to be in the final 16 on the merits of being England. It has been somewhat disappointing to see their lack of effort so far. I would say the same for the first round effort of Spain. They just looked past the Swiss, and got caught.

Have to say, the Netherlands looks pretty strong on both sides of the pitch... and I am STILL rooting for the US, as that's where I live.

Yeah, maybe you should stop being silly and play the next international championship as the United Kingdom. Can anyone remind me of a good reason not to include a handful of players from the other 'countries', if they're good enough obviously, other than "that's how it's always been"? Any other countries doing this? You don't see any teams from Bavaria, New York or Provence out there?

I'm still rooting for England though, and I think you will go through. Just have to beat Slovenia...

Would be a bit odd combining the teams that made up the first international matches etc. Also with separate league structure and separate governing bodies it would be peculiar.
