Haha, I like it! :-D
Can't nominate anyone though...

This team looks pretty average:

I have a 7/8/7 necro
Posted by Mossbeard on 2014-05-18 17:59:57
My gobbos are pretty average, with one more win then loss after ninety games.
Posted by Endzone on 2014-05-18 18:06:40
MonkeyMan - not average enough! We need serious averageness here!
cdassak - more like it, but it still feels like the diet coke of average. I am looking for full fat, added salt, spicy hot average!
Mossbeard - nothing average about a plus record with gobbos, but nice touch :)
Posted by shoebdoo on 2014-05-18 18:52:40
My box vamps are 41-15-40 I think.....Is that average enough :)
Posted by JimmyFantastic on 2014-05-18 19:06:37
All credit to Koadah for the average games thing, he is the stats man!
Posted by Endzone on 2014-05-18 19:16:01
Mossbeards Goblin's and shoebdoo's Vamps both have an excellent average! Still looking for that perfectly average record though...
Come on Fumbllers, somewhere out there is Team Average! The anticipation of finding this much talked about team is killing me...
I am also interested in the Mean Average Team - that is of course a team with an equal number of casualties for and against. Any takers?
Posted by mister__joshua on 2014-05-18 19:20:23
My Goblins https://fumbbl.com/p/team?team_id=731271 have a 4/0/4 record after 8 games and only -5 cas and -2 TD diff. I also have 3/2/3 skaven and 4/5/4 humans. Turns out I'm an average player! :D
Posted by uuni on 2014-05-18 19:21:28
I believe that the structure would go that few teams win and most teams lose more than half of their games, if losing teams get stopped or retired by their coach. Small world phenomenon, was it?
Of course, I could be wrong.
Posted by uuni on 2014-05-18 19:23:41
Oh, and I would hypothesise also that for most coaches their friends are on average better coaches than themselves, but this could be counted out to know for sure if it is true or false.
(One's friends usually have more friends than one itself... Math is not straightforward.)

Thanks mister joshua, you seem to average a high level of averageness. I may have to ask you to join a focus group so we can start understanding averages better.
Posted by Endzone on 2014-05-18 19:28:38
Excellent insight from uuni. If I have understood this right on average the average team wins and an over average amount of games because on average teams who perform below average retire, thus affecting the overall average. I see we may need to develop a weighted average, or average average if you will to compensate for this average phenomenom!
Posted by Scaramanga on 2014-05-18 19:36:08
My best average team is this one https://fumbbl.com/p/team?team_id=738043
Underworld 5/3/5 td diff:0(14-14)
Posted by xnoelx on 2014-05-18 20:03:20
I present the winners: https://fumbbl.com/p/team?op=view&team_id=746908
My B Chaos currently sit at 42/29/42.
The best thing is that they are decidedly unaverage (well, apart from being a B Chaos team) as they've only ever had one player with PO.
Posted by akaRenton on 2014-05-18 20:09:16
Grandfathered ogre averageness.
Posted by Endzone on 2014-05-18 20:18:53
Nice touch having the TDs averaging out Scaramanga.
xnoelx's 42/29/42 may take some beating, have we found the Average Team? I hope not, otherwise it means the average box team has clawpomb! That's not a stat I want bandied around!
akaRenton, Ogres and snotlings never struck me as averagey sorts, obviously in the right hands they have more potential for mediocrity than I realised!
Posted by blader4411 on 2014-05-18 20:45:18
Best I can do, 46/19/40 ;£
Should have had a couple more wins really, but I didn't start pimping the Elf carrier until my next incarnation of Chaos Pact.
Posted by Kam on 2014-05-18 22:57:47
10 games in average? Then I want to see a 0/10/0 team. ;)
Now if you don't mind, I'm gonna rate this blog 3.5. ;)
Posted by koadah on 2014-05-19 00:03:27
Actually Jim I don't know anything about stats.
Any references I make to "stats" are lies and should read "data". ;)
I suppose it really depends on what you mean by average. ;)
You'll probably need VoodooMike or his back up Dode to really figure it out.
I'd say that most Box teams only play one game. And they lose it.
On a straight mean (which the stats guys will probably tell you is meaningless) you are looking at 12 games. Which is strange as I was pretty sure it was 10. Has that changed since the scheduler fix?
So, you looking for a team that went 0/0/1 or maybe 5/2/5 depending on how you look at it.
Or you could say whatever you like and claim "lies, damn lies..."

Love the way your are all getting into this otherwise average blog.
Kam, love your idea that the average team only ever draws (or ties for my friends 'over the pond'). I would be made up to hear of any team with a 0/x/0 record. Imagine if there had ever been a team that got to 0/10/0!
koadah, thanks for clarifying that the mean average is in fact 12, not 10. (for frack sake Jimmy - get it right!), however there is no need to resort to childish punnery with the word 'mean' - that sort of infantile behaviour has no place on this thread.
P.S. Still waiting to hear about the best Mean Average team - i.e. that team with the highest Cas For = Cas Against record.
Posted by koadah on 2014-05-19 00:45:31
Don't blame Jim. I said it. I'm pretty sure was 10 last time I looked. But that was a while ago. The figure 5 also came from somewhere. Probably VoodooMike. But that was probably calculated in a way far too complicated for a mere mortal like myself.
Posted by Endzone on 2014-05-19 02:07:33
Fair enough koadah, I don't mean to name and shame, but there is a rumour going around that Jimmy is always right, but as far as I can see, on average his comments may not be as meaningful as people think. I have been asking around and me, Dian and the rest are not convinced. Mo, Dal and some of his mates are on his side, but me, Dee and Oker know some pretty average use of statistics when we see them. But hey - I'm not trying to start on anyone - perhaps we can find some middle ground.
Posted by xnoelx on 2014-05-19 02:12:01
I'm not sure Jimmy's comments could be any less meaningful than anyone thinks....=
Posted by Endzone on 2014-05-19 02:17:57
In defence of Jimmy I am sure his comments are at least average, and if not, I expect they average out. You may have the Average Team xnoelx, but there's no need to be mean about it.
Posted by JimmyFantastic on 2014-05-19 09:04:32
I could stop trolling and gimmick posting and actually always be right... but I like being mean.
Posted by Badoek on 2014-05-20 13:12:29
eldritchfox' box flings 15/15/18 but CAS -15 TD -42
DonKare's pact 13/12/14 CAS -3 TD 1
Loew's orcs 34/13/35 CAS 3 TD 8
Manbush' elfs 244/104/270 CAS -492 TD 4
Lovely CAS/TD average for Elves I guess.
Let's keep looking!

*fewer than 10 games.
